Born outside of Philadelphia, Amalie started dancing at the age of 3. She received her early classical training from Sherry Hiott at Delaware Dance Company and supplemented her training by attending summer intensives at CPYB, Charlotte Ballet, Miami City Ballet and BalletX. At 16 Amalie was invited to join Charlotte Ballet as a Trainee, under the direction of Patricia McBride, Laszlo Berdo and Kati Mayo. While at Charlotte Ballet, Amalie had the opportunity to perform alongside the company, dancing featured roles in works by Christopher Stuart, Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Matthew Hart and Alejandro Cerrudo. In her first year with Terminus as a Protégé, she performed in four world premieres. Amalie is thrilled to be returning as a company member for the 24/25 season.
Aside from dancing, Amalie has a passion for choreographing. She has set works on the trainee dancers of Charlotte Ballet in 2022, and this past season created an emerging work “Grey Matter” on the Terminus Student Company, which was adjudicated for Regional Dance America. She is also a current online student at the University of Delaware, with a concentration in Arts Administration.
